Introducing: Stout

Now that we have a place of our own and a place with a fenced back yard...we finally have been able to get the very much anticipated addition to our family.  May we introduce you to Stout; named after the delicious, black, creamy beverage that I am not allowed to drink at the moment.  I think we both hoped to find a lab at a rescue shelter...but most dogs at the shelters here are pit bulls, huskies, and german shepherds (all dogs that our home insurance doesn't allow us to have).  When we saw "Stout" (then Suki) on the website for the city pound, we left 5 minutes later to meet her.  We got to play with her and pet her outside of the facility.  We decided we were going to think about it for the night, but on our way back into the shelter I saw a family that was viewing another dog....eyeing our Stout.  It was Trevor that ultimately said..."Let's just do it!"  We went home with her that night.  :)

Our first night with her.
Mr. Duck was completely limbless by morning.

After about 2 days of having Stout, we dog sat for our friend, Ryan.  It was a fun time  :)

Playing fetch with a tennis ball in the lake.  Minnie got it before Stout every time.  Every time Stout would go to jump in the water to get it she would daintily dip her toes in first.  Ha! She's so delicate!

  1. I always love to hear stories where little homeless pets find a home... but i wish there was a way to explain to pretty little Stout that she just won the lottery for finding the greatest family ever! She and Atticus both.
