Ch....ch....ch...ch....changes
Wow. I know....it's been a looong time since we've updated this thing. But in our defense.....A LOT has been going on. :) Trevor accepted a great PERMANENT job in Anchorage. Permanent being the key word here, being that the job here was only a temporary position. Taking into consideration our lil' one on the way...and how long it took to be in the position to be offered such a job...we had to take it!
So Trevor has been in Anchorage for the last 3 weeks living with our lovely friends Heather and Ryan and working the new job. And I have stayed back in Sitka to work some extra hours and finish things up here.
IN the meantime, we've spent a lot of time looking for a nice place to rent in Anchorage. It would seem that for the price we are willing to pay for rent each month does not get us very far. My Cancerian ways seem to demand that we live in a "nice", clean, and safe place. No rentals seemed to match those 3 requirements. After not much consideration, and a lot of scraping for cash....we figured out a way to BUY. It didn't take long for us to find a great 2 bedroom duplex in a nice, SAFE neighborhood...with a garage (critical for Anchorage winters), and a fenced backyard for our future dog that we've been waiting for. As we speak, Trevor is with the inspector....assuming all goes well....we will be in by the beginning of July.
In a week and a half....I will be taking the ferry with the car to Juneau, where I will meet Trevor. From there, we will jump on the ferry together to Haines, Alaska....then roadtrip ourselves up to Anchorage. :)
The first week we get there....I will be 23 weeks pregnant! This means that we will be finding out the he/she status of our wee Fox. My intuition tells me that we are having a girl....just to put it out there in case I'm right. :) We'll let you all know!
